Nicol Eltzroth Rosendorf (b. 1971, Atlanta) works across sound, moving image, text, and generative systems — each medium pulling the others toward meanings they couldn’t reach alone.
Conceptual resonances animate the work. Process and form. Signal and noise. Time and dissolution. Precision and chance. He is drawn to recursive structures, unstable memory, and drift. To language as both a material and a vector of productive proliferation. The relationships between things frequently matter more than the things themselves.
Returning to an independent practice after decades designing and directing communications for some of the world’s largest brands, Rosendorf has developed work spanning digital animation and film, musical composition, text-based and browser-based forms, generative media, and 3D printing. He has lectured on commercial film production and digital animation at the Atlanta College of Art and the Art Institute of Atlanta. His experimental music releases have been reviewed in The Wire and Bandcamp Daily.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including Atlanta Contemporary, Plexus Projects, Le Cube – Centre de Création Numérique (Paris), the MAXXI Museum (Rome), the Cairo Video Festival, the Asheville Art Museum, and the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art.
