DUNWOODY DRAGONS

Located in the Spruill Courtyard
Created by Spruill ceramics instructor Regina Wolff

The first Dunwoody Dragons arrived on a crisp evening in early fall 2024. Humans weren’t aware of their arrival for a few months. These wingless dragons are very intelligent, magical creatures and despite rumors, they do not breathe fire or eat humans. While some wingless dragons can fit into your pocket, others can be as large as a barn. They fly through the air with their own special magical abilities.

Come visit our Courtyard to try to find all five of the Dunwoody Dragons!

Sunfire & Amber

SUNFIRE and AMBER are dragon cousins and were the first dragons to arrive in the courtyard, drawn by the ringing sounds of the blacksmith studio. During the next several months they watched quietly, remaining invisible and settled on top of the light sconces. They saw children playing, and people of all different ages joyfully making beautiful art for pleasure. They felt comfortable in this oasis of kindness and creativity and sent word of this special place to others of their kind.

Moonbird

MOONBIRD is a Dragonette and likes to hide under objects to observe. This is a small and curious dragon who likes to be close to the action. It is intelligent and quick and brightly colored.

Ingot

INGOT is a golden legless dragon, part of the Sunworm family. These dragons like to hang from high purchases and observe the activities in their area. They are very quiet and shy.

Rubin

RUBIN is a gargoyle – a protector of humans. He is here to learn about the dragons and help humans and dragons understand each other. He sits quietly reading and contemplating his task.
