An interdisciplinary artist exploring performance, sound, and visual process, Claire Paul holds an MFA in Drawing and Painting from Georgia State University and a BME in Music from Florida State University. A bassoonist trained under Jeff Keesecker, Paul developed experimental approaches to electronic bassoon performance and presented guest masterclasses at Florida State University in 2015 and 2025.
Paul’s work has been exhibited and performed nationally and internationally. She was invited to contribute to the publication A Year of Deep Listening: 365 Text Scores for Pauline Oliveros by the Center for Deep Listening. Recent projects include a solo improvisational performance at Spruill Gallery (2025), and visual art exhibitions with SooKim Young at Spruill Gallery (2024), and exhibitions at ATHICA: Athens Institute for Contemporary Art and the Atlanta Contemporary (2024).
She participated in collaborative and experimental performances including Mysterium at University of Georgia (2023) and a nature-based performance with Yusuf Ali at Blue Heron Nature Preserve (2022). In 2017, she attended a residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts with Zeena Parkins and Jennifer Monson.
Paul’s work also appeared internationally, including the SEAS International Art Exhibition and RADIOMEGA Ionion Center Art Exhibition in Greece (2016). She regularly collaborates with musicians and artists; these collaborations resulted in the 2015 LP Drawing Through. She received a Flux Projects grant in 2011 in collaboration with Katy Malone. Paul also presents on creative practice and arts advocacy, with talks at events including the Atlanta Science Festival, Georgia Women’s Conference, and programs at Agnes Scott College.
