Artist Allison Geckeler has lived in Chamblee for 6 years. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia in Fine Art Photography, which has slowly led her to a painting career incorporating acrylics and chalk pastels.
The focus of Allison’s work is centered around the garden — the life and death cycles within, the mirrors of motherhood it provides, and its quiet demand for faith and trust. With the expansion of her family, her creative spaces have been given to the tiny artists within her house, leading her practice to develop digitally and into public spaces. Murals have been a freeing process for Allison that have showed her a new way to connect within the community.
