in a wide variety of activities

Spruill Center for the Arts!
Spruill Volunteer Guild members visited
Marilynn Brandenburger in her studio for their January 2010 meeting.
They toured the studio and viewed a collection
of Brandenburger’s work in color pencil, water color, gouache acrylic, oil
pastel, and mixed media. All enjoyed Brandenburger’s informal talk covering
her career as an artist and art instructor- her background and education,
use of mediums, surfaces, and the techniques she utilizes to create very
personal, evocative and mood filled images.

The Italian theme has inspired some surprises; visit an Italian Market
installation, inspired by the small shops of Florence and Venice. Watch
demonstrations of contemporary craft disciplines associated with Italy
including, painting, mosaics, ceramics, jewelry, glass, and book binding.
Work by Spruill artist/instructors and advanced students will be for sale. Live
and silent auctions, music for dancing, and a gourmet dinner accompanied by fine
wines make for a memorable evening. Invite friends to join you – a grand time is
guaranteed with the added bonus of supporting one of the most acclaimed
community art centers in the Southeast.
